How Los Angeles hires.

A Los Angeles law firm works in the largest trial court in the country. Civil matters run through the Stanley Mosk Courthouse on Hill Street, criminal through the Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice Center on Temple, federal cases through the First Street courthouse, and immigration through the court on Olive Street downtown. A solo firm in Koreatown or a two-partner shop in Sherman Oaks spends its days between those buildings and its office.

Clients find those firms by search, because the city is too spread out for anything else. The person hit on the 101 near Silver Lake does not know a lawyer. They search on their phone from the tow yard, read three sites, and call one. The site that named the courthouse, the language, and the fee arrangement gets the call.

Knowing Los Angeles

The business geography of Los Angeles runs along its corridors: Ventura Boulevard through the Valley, Melrose and Beverly across the middle of the city, Figueroa through Highland Park, Crenshaw through the southwest, and Gaffey down into San Pedro. Local customers navigate by those streets.

Permits go through the Department of Building and Safety with its well-known queues. LADWP handles water and power inside city limits while Edison and SoCalGas pick up at the borders, and street parking rules can decide when a crew can start.

Angelenos hire off screens because the city is too big to hire any other way. Nobody drives from Eagle Rock to Mar Vista to size up a contractor’s shop. They size up the website, the reviews, and the response time.

Permits run through LADBS, power through LADWP, and the housing stock spans 1910s Craftsmans to new small-lot builds.

Nº02 / The briefFor law firms

What your site actually needs to do.

  • 01

A potential client with a real case searches at night, reads three or four firms, and calls the one that answered a question plainly. A site that only says "aggressive representation" loses that read.

  • 02

Intake is the leak. Calls that ring through to voicemail during a deposition, forms that ask for nothing useful, and a paralegal who returns messages in the order they came in, not by the value of the case.

  • 03

The State Bar of California regulates every word a firm publishes about results and testimonials. A page copied from an out-of-state template can put a solo practitioner on the wrong side of Rules 7.1 through 7.5.

What we build for law firms.

  • Practice-area pages. One page per practice, personal injury, immigration, family, estate planning, criminal defense, or business, each written to answer what a client in that situation types into Google.
  • Intake and consultation booking. A short form that asks for the facts a paralegal needs to screen, and a scheduler for consultations, with paid or free consultations set up the way the firm runs them.
  • AI receptionist for screening. Answers every call at any hour, asks the intake questions the firm writes, books the consultation into the calendar, and texts the attorney a summary before the caller hangs up.
  • Case results and testimonials within the rules. A results page and a reviews section written to State Bar advertising standards, with the disclaimers the rules require and nothing that reads as a guarantee.
  • Bilingual intake. Spanish, Korean, Armenian, Vietnamese, or whichever language the firm actually serves, on the pages and in the form, so the first contact happens in the client's language.
  • Search and ads for high-intent phrases. Pages and campaigns built around the searches that mean a person needs a lawyer this week, and the firm's name and address on every ad the way Rule 7.2 requires.

What that looks like in Los Angeles.

Language decides the practice map in Los Angeles. Korean-speaking clients look for firms on Wilshire and Olympic in Koreatown. Spanish-speaking clients in Highland Park and West Adams want the intake in Spanish before they say anything else. Armenian, Persian, Tagalog, and Chinese each have their own corridors. A firm that serves one of those communities says so on the first screen and takes the intake in that language.

Personal injury in LA is a paid-search market with some of the most expensive clicks in the state. The answer is not a bigger budget. It is a landing page for one injury type, a form that asks about the crash, the injury, and the insurer, and an AI receptionist that answers at 11pm when the billboard firms send callers to a call center. The State Bar disclaimer sits next to every result on the page.

Court geography is a trust signal. Saying that you appear at Stanley Mosk for civil matters, at Van Nuys for Valley cases, or at the Olive Street immigration court tells a reader you practice here and not from a template. Estate planning firms serving Mar Vista or Eagle Rock homeowners speak instead to probate at Mosk and the cost of avoiding it in a city where the house is the estate.

A broadsheet, not a brochure. Rule-bordered masthead, no photograph above the fold, zero rounded corners and zero animation. The verdict table sets recoveries as a real typeset column, and the locator is drawn rather than embedded.

// Questions3 answered

Asked by law firms in Los Angeles.

Yes. Two paths from the first screen, each with its own page, its own questions, and its own form. Immigration clients in LA often arrive through a relative, so that page is written in the languages you serve. Family law clients are usually alone at night on a phone, so that page leads with the consultation and how to book it.
